Curry and Quiz Night
Twice a year we organise a curry and quiz night at a local restaurant. The restaurant in question is the Slice of India where we are very kindly offered a function room for the event.
The food is served buffet style but help is at hand if you require the food to be taken to your table. Not only does the food consist of normal curries, naan bread and rice, but also absolutely delicious street food. It is an opportunity to try different foods you may not have tried before.
Naan bread and dosa is made in front of your eyes and there are other types of food such as pizza, salads and your choice of stir-fries too! Let us not forget the array of desserts that are available and are all included in the price and perfect if you have a sweet tooth.
The evening begins at 7.00 pm and drinks can be bought at the bar before dinner. After dinner at around 8.00 pm, you can look forward to a raffle and win, in some cases twice, some great prizes. The raffle tickets are sold before and at the event and if you are first to win, then you choose the raffle prize of your choice.
The raffle is followed by a pub quiz lead by our very own quiz master. You can choose your own team when you book the event and if you win, the prize is a bottle of wine for each team member.
The cost of the whole evening is about £20 and includes all food and the quiz. It gets overbooked very quickly so when we organise another curry and quiz night, be sure to book early.
Previously we have raised more than £400 for each evening and even more if we have had a kind benefactor join us. An enjoyable fundraiser, easy on the pocket, stimulating and great fun!
