Butterfly Ball III – A Night to Remember at Pride Park
Our Butterfly Ball had us all on our feet (and some of us off them!)
With great food and better company, our night started off with some fizz on arrival before the lovely 3 course meal Pride Park had prepared, with chocolate Butterfly favours from our good friends, The Base Derby.
While we all sipped our welcome drinks and made acquaintances, Adam Prime got some of us really concentrating on his Roll the Pound game, where hand-eye coordination meets skilful throwing, in the hopes of taking home a bottle of something good.
We also had to try our hands at some not so ordinary carnival games, Centre Coordinator Alex and our Media Guru Trustee Alan played some Heads and Tails, with a rather competitive crowd who quickly caught onto the 50/50 trick.
Both brought out the competitiveness in us all, and embarrassment for some, as for a few of us, rolling a pound on the table is harder than it looks!
Whilst all this was happening, our lovely Centre Coordinator Lisa managed to sneak some (very candid) pictures of us all, however there was also a professional photographer to capture our portraits for some personal keepsakes, with a couple of them displayed at the Centre.
After that, we drew our highly anticipated raffle, with many thanks to every single person and company that donated prizes, from our lovely therapists who each donated an hour of their time, to the amazing companies who gifted everything from cleaning services to rounds of paintball, we are deeply grateful for the support and have listed our appreciation for each organisation below.
Our final fundraiser came in the form of an auction, where people bid on having their windows done for a year, fine jewellery, and rounds of golf, but our big ticket item was a limited edition Lego Typewriter, gaining a bid of a whopping £320, we are again, eternally thankful for your incredible contributions.
For a perfect end to a perfect evening, we all danced the night away to Kal’s Kats amazing jazz and blues tunes and our very own Singing For Pleasure Leader, Elissa, even got up to sing along with them for a few songs (what a treat!) as well as some of our other brave guests too!
After all was said and done, we had literally danced till some of us dropped, and the last few stumbled into their carriages already requesting tickets for next year…
With many thanks and appreciation to…
